Lois Taylor Springer, 93, passed away at the Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee on Sunday, August 6. Her daughter was with her. She was married to Jack Taylor who died in 1974. She later married Gerald Springer who died in 2013. She was predeceased by daughters Valeria Taylor and Althea Taylor.

She is survived by a daughter, Sondra Taylor-Furbee, two grandsons and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by step-son William Springer(Nancy) and their two children.

She was born and raised in Morgantown, WV. The family moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL in 1963 when her husband, Jack, accepted the position of Dean of Students at Broward Junior College. Lois earned a master's degree in education and was a special education teacher in Broward County.
After retiring, she volunteered for many years at Coral Springs City Hall. She and loving husband Gerry enjoyed traveling and playing golf. They particularly loved staying in Vero Beach and Captiva Island. She loved keeping up with fashion trends and shopping. She also enjoyed walking and water aerobics. She was a member of the Coral Springs Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Easter Seals, an organization that meant much to her.
