February 21, 1978 - May 12, 2017

Tom LoCastro was born in Gainesville, Florida, but grew up in Tallahassee where he moved with his parents in the fall of 1979. He attended Ruediger Elementary, Fairview Middle School, and became the first graduate of Crestview Independent School in 1996. Tom was a people person which led him to a number of jobs in Tallahassee's service sector at Albertson's, Publix, Red Lobster, and Carrabba's Restaurant where he befriended many people in the community. He enjoyed spending time with family, bowling, watching sports (especially the Gators and Seminoles), going to movies, listening and collecting all kinds of music, reading Stephen King and Dan Brown novels, dining out with friends and family, and driving around in his new car.

Tom was pre-deceased by his maternal grandparents, Roy and Beth Fisel, and his paternal grandmother, Dorothy June LoCastro. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Georgia Byrd Dorsett LoCastro and his parents, John and Diane LoCastro of Tallahassee. Other family members include: grandfather, Thomas S. LoCastro of Satellite Beach; mother-in-law, Missy Dorsett of Tallahassee; father-in-law, Hugh Dorsett (Donna); sister-in-law, Amanda Dorsett (Elizabeth Bendele) and brother-in-law, Jay Dorsett (Johanna Simpson); niece, Kayla; aunt, Barbara Parker (Steve) of Jacksonville; uncles, Guy LoCastro (Dana) of Melbourne and Mark LoCastro of Viera; aunts, Sheri Meadows of Phoenix and Maria LoCastro of Orlando; uncles, Chuck Early (Mary Ellen) of Deland and Gary Early (Kristin) of Tallahassee. Tom is also survived by numerous cousins whose friendship and love he cherished.

Tom was an extraordinary individual who faced many medical challenges throughout his life with courage and strength. He was an inspiration to an incredible number of people and will always be our Superman! He passed away after a valiant fight with Multiple Myeloma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Holy Comforter Episcopal Church, the Tom LoCastro Memorial Fund (2015 Fleischmann Road) or Big Bend Hospice (1723 Mahan Center Blvd.).

The family will receive visitors at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday, May 19. A memorial service will be held celebrating Tom's life also at Holy Comforter on Saturday, May 20 at 2 pm, followed by a reception in the parish hall.
